Veterans Honored by Students and Staff on Nov. 11

Cooper Principal Frank Herman Greets WWII Veteran John NallyRobbinsdale Area Schools students and staff honored veterans in many ways on Monday, November 11.

Cooper High School held a breakfast for area veterans, which was planned and hosted by students. We were honored to have WWII veteran (and former Cooper student) Mr. John Nally join us, along with our other former and current service men and women.

Several of our schools recognized the veterans on staff. Sonnesyn Elementary invited students to bring in photos of their family members who served in the military - check out their video slideshow. Plymouth Middle School held a "treats for troops" candy drive, and collected more than 150 pounds of candy to be delivered to deployed troops.

Forest Elementary hosted an afternoon assembly honoring veterans, and Neill Elementary students wrote letters to deployed veterans. We appreciate the many veterans who visited with our students, including those at Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School and the School of Engineering and Arts.

Robbinsdale Area Schools thanks all of our veterans (both past and present) for their service.
