Armstrong Activities Director Larry Tate named Region 6AA AD of the Year

Recognized for his continued dedication and leadership, Armstrong High School (AHS) Activities Director Larry Tate has been named the 2025 Region 6AA Activities Administrator (AD) of the Year by the Minnesota Interscholastic Activities Administrators Association (MNIAAA).

“It is a very humbling experience to receive this honor, as all activities directors put in a lot of long hours, and to be recognized by my colleagues really has me taken aback,” said Tate.

Tate is in his sixth year serving as the AD at AHS and is in his 20th year working for Robbinsdale Area Schools (Rdale).

He said that the most rewarding part of his role is watching students maneuver the highs and lows and grow with each experience. “I also enjoy watching the community and student body come together to support each other,” he said.

The MNIAAA honors its members and other individuals connected with Minnesota cocurricular programs who have distinguished themselves or have otherwise made significant contributions to Minnesota High School Activities.

“All the hard work is worth it,” said Tate. “Being able to tell a student, staff member, or community member that I see them is impactful and fuels my why.”

By being selected as one of the eight Class AA Regional ADs of the Year, Tate is eligible to be selected as the Class AA AD of the Year in the spring.
