Cooper High School Senior Awarded Full Scholarship to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University

Clinton Boadu, a senior at Cooper High School, was offered a full scholarship to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCAT). NCAT is classified as an “HBCU,” a designation for historically black colleges and universities. NCAT is known for a student-centered emphasis on leadership, ethical reasoning, critical thinking, achievement and excellence.

“There are many reasons why I want to attend NCAT,” said Clinton Boadu. “It has a great business program that lands top students jobs with big companies. It is also an HBCU, so I’d get the experience of being in a college where more of the students are like me,” he continued. Clinton plans to major in Supply Chain Management, sharing “it is the backbone of business. It would give me a broad view of the process in which products are sourced, manufactured, transported, housed and sold which will be helpful down the road if I ever wanted to start my own business,” he continued.

During the summer, Clinton plans to participate in a BrandLab business internship to gain professional experience. The internship has a marketing focus which he hopes can provide insight on how to better market products and services for businesses, in addition to assisting with marketing the books he’s written.

Clinton has written a mystery/adventure novel, with a second book in progress which he hopes to have ready to publish by the end of the year. He is looking forward to receiving reviews on his first book, allowing him to make changes and reach out to a literary agent.

“Clinton’s drive and determination is inspiring,” said Frank Herman, Principal of Cooper High School. “We wish him well as he continues his educational journey. We know he will go on to achieve whatever goals he has set out to accomplish,” he continued.
